I'm not sure how Kylie put this together in her little mind but she said this the other day when asked why her daddy works. She used to say he worked to buy her apple juice! We didn't do much this week because of all the storms but we still had fun at home. I'm still trying to catch up clean & organize from what I feel like is a couple years of build-up! But that is still almost impossible staying home with 2 busy kids.
Today, I had to take Conner to the doctor for his thrush again. Curtis took Kylie to the park. After naps, we went to Arlington in April. It was neat. Kylie did the huge slide on her own. I was shocked & so proud of my little girl.
Kylie predicted rain today during lunch. It started raining as soon as we got in the car to leave. We went to the mall to look at a TV stand & then let Kylie play in the play area. Of course, she talked her daddy into a $2 carousel ride!
And for today's finale...Kylie is a little (or a lot) constipated. She was babbling something so I told her I didn't know what she was saying. She said "I need something in my booty" Um, what? "I need a possitory" Poor baby :(

Easter Egg Hunting....sort of!

We went to the Botanic Gardens today for the Easter Egg Hunt. Kylie still had a fever when she woke up from her nap but she wanted to go. We gave her more Motrin & put the kids in the car! Conner fell asleep on the way there & slept in the stroller half the time. Kylie had fun and gathered lots of eggs. Then we headed to Papa & Nana's for some big swinging! Kylie told us that she was going to spend the night with Papa & Nana & she didn't want us to come tonight. She is going to spend the night with them in a few weeks and Curtis, Kristen & Conner can't go. She did not want to stop doing the Twisty Swing with Papa.

Conner is too mobile too early!
Kylie's had fever all day. She's miserable. I hate seeing her like this. She was complaining of her ear hurting at bedtime so we'll be trying a new pediatrician tomorrow.

This little man stays busy. He doesn't care if it's dark in one room. He doesn't care that he's only 7.5 months old. He doesn't care that momma said "no"! He's got things to check out & he's gotta do it now!
He's smart too. He will crawl to the highchair when he wants food or the jumper when he wants to jump!

Kylie & her fevers
As you all know, Kylie has been having fevers every month for over a year. We are really starting to pay attention to all her symptoms leading up to the fever. The "symptoms" drag on for weeks. I can tell it's coming because she starts freaking out at bedtime, being mean, more tantrums, won't eat, complains of tummy aches & leg aches, swollen lymph nodes in her neck, swollen tonsils, sore throat. The worst one is that she will have pee accidents a few days before. She tries to get to the potty but just doesn't make it in time. Then she apologizes and says it was an accident. This breaks my heart. It's not her fault these fevers are overtaking her life.
Curtis (making him go b/c holding her down for blood work last year was horrible) and I are taking her to an immunologist/allergist this Thursday to have some blood work done. If all that comes back normal, ruling out immune disorders, then we will more than likely have her tonsils removed. She will have to stay in the hospital over night and it will be a long 2 weeks of recovery but I'm ready for my baby girl to get some relief. The Ear, Nose & Throat doctor is amazing. He said it's 50/50 on whether or not it will get rid of the fevers but at least the tonsils and any symptoms related to that will be gone. I've read everything I can possibly find online about PFAPA (periodic fevers) and many parents have had success with a tonsillectomy.
Keep Kylie in your prayers!

Expanding the blog! & Mommy's new job
New blog for our expanded family! This Friday, April 15th, will be my last day of work in the real world for a while. My new position will be quite interesting & challenging, to say the least. My bosses will be a 2.5 yr old & a 7 month old. There won't be a paycheck. It's 24/7 + ! But I think it will be the most fulfilling & rewarding job I will ever have, Stay at Home Mommy.I'm so thankful that Curtis has a good job and wants this for our family also.
It's just now 1pm and we've had a full day! I've done laundry, emptied trash, cut coupons, cleaned the kitchen, introduced scissors to Kylie, cleaned the kids bathroom, where Kylie informed me that I was too big to be in the bathtub, and more! But the best part of my day, besides the fact that both babies are napping now!, is that they played "together" for the longest time this morning. I could watch this all day.
